[April 25th 2008] One week to go until we get back on the road again supporting Soman in Sheffield. The Sound Pressure album by Soman was a huge influence on Modulate so we are really excited to be playing with him...and we are really excited that Kolje will be polishing off the mix on 'Detonation' (our upcoming album) as well as mastering it.
Our remix of the Soman classic Divine will be released on the new Soman EP Re:Up, released on the 2nd May 2008.
We also have a remix on the new SAM album of the track Hardbeat Trauma due for release on the 6th June 2008.
We are just putting the finishing touches to the live set and are really excited to take the new show out on the road. Our new merch should be ready in time too *fingers crossed*. Owen Brown (Alternative Perspective) has been finishing off the live video projections for the show and he'll be acting as our live VJ on stage. We'll let you have a look at the first 30 seconds. :)

[Dec 30th 2007] End of year DAC chart.
Modulate reached #55 in the end of year DAC Top 300 chart and were one of the highest placed newcomers to make the chart.
Thank you to all the DJ's who voted for us!
Well, it's been a hell of a year for Modulate. We announced our signing in late Dec last year. In between then and now we released our first EP, we toured Europe with VNV Nation, the EP garnered a load of great reviews, reached #3 in the Greek Alt Charts, #6 in the German DAC chart, received club and radio play all over the globe, supported Grendel at a sold out show @ Sheffield Corp, then went off on the epic 7 week tour of America supporting Combichrist. Had an amazing reaction over there, met so many amazing people too. From March to Sept we played 50 shows in 8 countries to 30,000 - 40,000 people. Came back home and have had my head down working on the album for the last 3 months. It's nearly there. Been looking towards 2008 now and putting plans in motion for that....it's going to be exciting.
Thanks to everyone for your support this year. We'll see you in 2008 with a new album!
[Dec 18th 2007] The DJ set @ Sheffield Corp on NYE has now been cancelled. Sorry.
[Dec 15th 2007] The Modulate remix of Faderhead's Dirty Grrrls, Dirty Bois, was recently released in Germany as a DJ promo along with a couple of other remixes and has gone straight into the German DAC chart at number 8 this week. :)
[Dec 11th 2007] Things are coming together now on the album...there are 8 tracks which are pretty much written and just need extra production/tweeking/extra layers. Then there are 5-6 that are 'work in progress' which are the best out of the 60 or so ideas I had flying around. The hardest part is probably going to be picking which tracks actually make the album and in which order.
I get asked this a lot and it's fantastic that I do..."When are you coming to play in XXXXXXX???".
I put the live stuff on hold until the album is done. The success of the EP and the subsequent tours meant that things took off a lot quicker than I was expecting. We knew the EP was good but we didn't really expect Skullfuck turn into one of the club hits of the year. So that raised the bar and set the standard. Some of the material I had written already wasn't up to the same standard, so barring a couple of tracks everything is post Skullfuck.
I'll start booking live dates again once we set a rough date for the album. I've already had offers from a lot of promoters all over the place but I had to put everything on hold until the album was ready, otherwise it'd never get finished. Then the plan is to tour our ass off again in 2008.
So the simple answer is, we'll be playing as many live gigs in as many places as possible after the album comes out in 2008.
Lets hope next year is as good as this year has been. :).
[Dec 8th 2007] Upcoming Modulate DJ sets. Sat 15th Dec 2007, Mutate @ The Wendy House, Leeds University Students Union, UK. Thurs 20th Dec 2007, Cryotec @ The Cathouse, Union St, Glasgow, UK.
[Nov 4th 2007] It seems the Faderhead remix isn't exclusive to Endzeit Bunkertracks III after all, it's also on Extreme Sundenfall Volume 6.
[Oct 26th 2007] I'm still head down in the studio working on the album. Just completed a Modulate remix of Divine by Soman and a mix/additional production on a new track from XP8, Download Me, for the upcoming Infactious compilation.
Modulate tracks have found there way onto a few compilations recently.
Kommune 1 was included on 'Zillo Club Hits 12' and 'Aderlass Vol 5'.
Skullfuck is featured on CD 1 of the upcoming Endzeit Bunkertracks Act III, due for release on the 7th Dec 2007.
An exclusive previously unreleased Modulate remix of Faderhead- Dirty Grrrls, Dirty Boys is featured on CD 2.
The Schallfaktor EP, End of Love, featuring a Modulate remix of the title track, reached number 4 in the DAC charts recently so congratulations to them.
.
[Oct 8th 2007] New interviews online. Lorelei.cl from Chilie and Side-Line Magazine from Belgium. The full interview is featured in issue 59.
[Sept 28th 2007] Updated the info section, now with FAQ, updated biography and several new Modulate interviews including some never published in English before.
[Sept 17th 2007] 50 dates, 8 countries, over 30 thousand people later, our first world tour is over. :D
Thank you to everyone who came out to support us and hello to everyone who added us after seeing us live. It's been an amazing experience and thanks esp to VNV Nation and Combichrist for inviting us to support them round Europe and America.
Probably the most asked question I had all tour was, "When is the album coming out?". Well, I'm back home now so as soon as it's finished is the simple answer! Early 2008 I hope.
[July 13th 2007] Full details for the upcoming North American tour supporting Combichrist have been added to the live section.
[June 28th 2007] Thanks to everyone who came out to the gig last Sat in Sheffield supporting Grendel, we had an amazing night. Apologies to anybody who got turned away. Based on advance sales the venue decided to hold the gig in the smaller of the two rooms at the Corporation, which then ended up sold out, so next time, buy your tickets early! It was also an introduction to the live band for Rhys Hughes on laptop/loops & effects. Review of the gig online @ amodelofcontrol.com
Modulate are also featured in an interview with Vampire Freaks website which can be found here.
Modulate will be playing on the upcoming US tour with Combichrist. Unfortunately :SITD: have had to pull out of the tour due to personal reasons but we will certainly be there so see you all in the US & Canada in August.
[June 3rd 2007] New photos from a new promo shoot, Dark City and the VNV Judgement tour Leg 2 are up in the Gallery. Thanks to Jeanine, Aidan, neo@gothic.chat.de & www.starlight-magazin.de.
[May 26th 2007] We are all back home now and vaguely recovered after Dark City and the 2nd leg of the VNV Nation tour. Thank you to everyone who came to see us and hello to our new friends. I'm going to be holed up in the studio for a while now working on new material for the album but I'm already itching to get back out live and tour again. I'll be putting some of the tour photos and a new photo shoot I did in Switzerland in the gallery in the next few days. I've also uploaded some of the tracks from the EP to our MySpace and Vampire Freaks pages.
The EP had a fantastic run in various charts, peaking at #6 in the German DAC chart and #3 in the Greek Alternative Chart.
Don't forget, our next live gig is supporting Grendel @ Sheffield Corporation on Sat 23rd June. This will probably be our last UK date before we join Combichrist on their US tour in August/Sept.
And finally, the English language version of an interview from Zillo Magazine that was originally published in German is now available in the Information section.
[April 24th 2007] More Gallery updates, this time live in Cologne. Thanks to www.black-cat-net.de.
[April 21st 2007] New live photos in the gallery from the VNV Nation tour @ The Factory in Magdeburg. Thanks to www.electric-image.net for allowing us to use them. .
[April 19th 2007] Modulate are featured as this weeks spotlight artist in ReGen magazine, including an interview and EP review.
"Modulate's 'Skullfuck' could very well be the industrial scene's club hit of the year. Project founder Geoff Lee talks to ReGen about the transition from DJ to producer and what his experience behind the decks taught him about crafting the perfect dance floor killer".

[April 16th 2007] I've buried myself in writing the new album at the moment. So far so good.
I think next week will also see an overhaul of the live material ready for Dark City and the 2nd leg of the VNV tour.
And in between all that, I'm DJ'ing at Wendy House as usual next Saturday. Sadly I'll miss the birthday celebrations in May as I'm still on tour so it'll be the last time to catch me there until June so don't miss it!
[April 14th 2007] Modulate are currently at #11 in the Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC) and #12 in the German Electronic Web Charts (GEWC) this week with the Skullfuck EP. Thank you to everyone for your support.
We also have feature interviews in this months Zillo & Orkus (including the ESA mix of Skullfuck on the cover CD) magazines (in German) as well as an interview in this months Dark Entries webzine (in Dutch). We've just completed one in English for ReGen magazine in the US that should be out soon.
[April 3rd 2007] Just got back from Leg 1 of the VNV Nation tour yesterday. What can I say but wow! Thank you so much to everyone who came out and supported us, from our little warmup gig through to sold out shows in front of 1500 people . We had an amazing time. Can't wait for Leg 2 now in May. I'll put some photos up here soon.
The Skullfuck EP was released last week so I've just been getting a few reviews and chart placings back. #16 in the German Electronic Charts and looks like we'll be hitting the Top 20 of the Deutsche Alternative Chart this week. :D
[March 6th 2007] Modulate will be playing a free concert at TV21 in Manchester, UK, on Sunday the 18th March. This will work as both a release party for the Skulfuck EP and a warm-up gig before we head off on tour with VNV Nation.
Full details in the live section.
[Febuary 17th 2007] The EP will be hitting the streets around the 21st-23rd of March (depending on territory). It is available to order on pre-release from www.sistinas.com (North America) & Music Non Stop (UK)...I'll let you know where else it is on pre-sale as and when I find out.
[February 7th 2007] Just in time for the upcoming VNV NATION European tour we will release our debut EP "SKULLFUCK" on Infacted Recordings (Europe/RoW) & Sistinas Records (North America) . The tracklist can be found here:

1. Skullfuck
2. Kommune 1
3. Digital Alchemy
4. Skullfuck (Neikka RPM mix)
5. Skullfuck (Phantom West mix)
6. Skullfuck (ESA mix)
7. Skullfuck (Combichrist mix)
8. Electronic Battle Weapon
[January 16th 2007] I'm busy on the remix front at the moment, just finished a mix of End of Love for new signings to Infacted, Schallfaktor. Currently working on one for Reaper, then one for Grendel, then a collaboration on a track for XP8's new album.
[January 10th 2007] Please note: Modulate are NOT playing at the Barcelona or Madrid dates (5th & 6th May) on the VNV Nation tour. These dates already have local support booked and we had already been asked to play at Dark City (4th - 6th May), so it made sense from both sides for us not to do those dates.
[January 10th 2007] UK Date - Modulate will be playing at this years Dark City Festival in Edinburgh, 4th - 6th May alongside our friends Grendel & XP8.

[January 9th 2007] I'm am delighted to announce that Modulate will be supporting VNV Nation along with Imperative Reaction on their European Judgement Tour 2007. :D

[December 28th 2006] Thanks to everyone who has asked about Modulate CD's recently.
We have now signed worldwide deals with Infacted (Europe/RoW) and Sistinas (North America) to sell our music, so we can no longer sell directly as we did with the Dystopia Ltd Edition CD. Nor can we send promo copies to DJ's/radio stations/press at the moment.
Currently I'm finishing off the Skullfuck EP, which will be a mix of original tracks and remixes with a release date around late Feb, early March 2007.
That will be followed by an LP in late spring and hopefully some live dates. We are talking to promoters at the moment to line some dates up. Probably in the UK first, then Europe and hopefully the US later.
So all good. Thanks for your support in 2006, it's been a great year for us and here's to 2007! :)
[December 17th 2006] I'm extremely pleased to announce that Modulate have signed to Sistinas Records for North America and Infacted Records for Europe and the Rest of the World. :D
The first release will be an EP in Spring 2007 followed by an LP shortly after.

[December 8th 2006] Just noticed my 10,000th play on MySpace. Thanks to everyone who has been listening to the Modulate stuff on there over the past year. :D
Things are going fantastically well, after some lengthy discussions and various offers I have gone with two absolutely fantastic record labels, so as soon as the ink is dry on the contracts we'll be making a full announcement. We are looking at late Feb, early March for the EP release now with some massive names doing remixes, followed by the album a few months later and as many gigs as we can play in 2007. I'm currently polishing off a few tracks for the EP, doing my own remix of Skullfuck and a couple of remixes for other artists.
There are a handful of the already limited (100 copies) edition Modulate - Dystopia EP CD's left. They are sure to be extremely collectable and I'll no longer be selling them once the contracts are signed so get them while you still can. Modulate Merchandise
For those that are wondering about the T-Shirts, I'll get some run off in the New Year. I couldn't get them in time for the London gig so I'll get them in time for any gigs in 2007.
[November 9th 2006] So Modulate are a live band now! It was great to get out and finally play live. We had a 'secret warmup gig' in the amazing Great Hall of the National Railway Museum in York surrounded by trains and steam engines on Saturday before heading down to London to open the Black Celebration VIII festival @ Islington Academy on Sunday. Thanks to everyone who came early to give their support.
I've just had the photos back from the excellent Ozzy @ www.karohemd.co.uk which are now online in the Gallery.
That will be the last live gig we'll be doing until 2007, time to get my head down in the studio now and finish off an EP (which should be getting released early spring 2007. Feb?). We've got some exciting announcements coming up. :)
[October 2nd 2006] I've just received a copy of the fantastc review Side-Line magazine have written for the Dystopia sampler CD. "There’s no doubt about it, Modulate has the potential to become one of the next dark electronic sensations!" "Tracks like “Revolution”, “Skullfuck”, “Das Bunker”, “V4 Werk”and “Factory” are one after the other dancefloor killers! This is a class act, which will for sure invade the scene very soon so you betterkeep the name in mind!" (full review in the merchandise section).
Had a slight delay with the CD's getting the covers duplicated (thank you to everyone who has ordered a copy) . They should be in the post in the next couple of days.
[September 12th 2006] Modulate Dystopia Ltd edition CD available to buy direct from the website. Contains the tracks Skullfuck, Das Bunker and 6 previously unreleased tracks. (full details in the merchandise section).
[September 6th 2006] Details of the Black Celebration festival have now been released. Modulate will be making our live debut supporting Suicide Commando, XPQ-21 & Psyche. More details and full lineup are here.
The Modulate remix of the Neikka RPM track, Sacrifice feat Claus Larsen (Leaether Strip), will be released on the 2CD version of their upcoming album, The Rise of the 13th Serpent. Available from 27th October 2006 (Alfa Matrix records).
[August 29th 2006] MP3's updated on MySpace.com. The site now features MP3 previews of Skullfuck (from the Das Bunker: Fear of a Distorted Planet compilation), Kommune 1 (new track), Revolution (from the demo) and Das Bunker (from the Endzeit Bunkertracks Act II compilation.www.myspace.com/modulate
[August 20th 2006] The long awaited New Input Noise compilation is ready for release in October 2006. This features the Modulate track Biomorph alongside artists including Ah Cama Sotz, Caustic, Hypnoskull, HIV+, Proyecto Mirage & Mono No Aware. More info @ www.hellektroempire.com
Modulate can also confirm that they will be playing live at the Black Celebration festival in London, UK, on the 5th Novemeber. Full lineup to be announced shortly.
The reaction to Skullfuck on the Das Bunker compilation has been brilliant. Thanks to everyone who has emailed me recently. The response from DJ's and clubs has been especially positive with the track finding it's way into a lot of DJ's setlists.
Currently remixing Grind for Caustic.
[July
23rd 2006] Excited about the release of the
Das
Bunker compilation, out tommorrow.
I know people have been asking where they can buy Skullfuck from, now they
can, but it's strictly limited to 800 copies. We are holding a release party
for it (as well as the ESA album) @
The Wendy House, Leeds, UK, on the 19th August.
Currently working on a remix for Neikka RPM for their upcoming EP. Some gigs are in the pipeline for Autumn, we'll be making announcements when things are confirmed. Things are happening behind the scenes but we can't say too much at the moment until things are finalised and official.
Modulate tracks have been getting played all over the place, the Skin Two USA ball in Atlanta and the Freaks United festival @ Nation in DC. Skullfuck is being used in the stage show by fetish performer, Master Mikeal, on his tour and the track Das Bunker (from the Endzeit Bunkertracks CD) placed #3 in the monthly top 10 at Spanish club Nocturna.
The Endzeit Bunkertracks Act II CD is currently at #2 in the German DAC alternative charts. I can live with being kept off the top spot by Frontline Assembly...maybe. :)
[June
28th 2006] The word has been spreading, I'm
losing track of how many clubs and radio stations have been playing Modulate
tracks recently. LA, Florida, Carolina, DC, London, Rotterdam, Texas. All
good.
We even got a mention on www.warrenellis.com
(writer of graphic novels such as Hellblazer & Transmetropolitan). Thanks
to everyone who has been spreading the word, plugging us, playing us etc.
I know a lot of you have been asking about where and when you could get hold
of it...so at long last (these things take time, record companies move far
more slowly than the net) Skullfuck is to be released on the new compilation
from legendary LA based club, Das Bunker. Hopefully we are going to be able
to follow this up with a Skullfuck EP of our own as this is mostly aimed at
North America (though you can get it on import in the UK/Europe). The compilation,
Fear of a Distorted Planet, is being released to celebrate the 10th anniversary
of the club and features artists such as Soman, Caustic, Combichrist, Imperative
Reaction, TH Industry, Endif, E.S.A, W.A.S.T.E. etc. The compilation will
feature the BETA mix of Skullfuck which is the version DJ's have been playing
out in clubs from the latest demo.
Streetdate 24th July 2006 and limited to 800 copies.

[ May 21st 2006] Things have been going from strength to strength, Skullfuck has been blowing up on industrial dancefloors across the world thanks to support from various DJ's and clubs (you know who you all are - thank you!). In particular we have had a load of support from people in Flordia and the USA so thanks especially to you guys. The Bunkertracks compilation has finally been released though it's nearly sold out it's limited edition of 1666 copies already so get in quick if you want one. The compilation has been made compilation of the month in both Zillo and Sonic Seducer magazines. It's great to finally be featured on a 'real' CD! Hopefully the interest it is attracting will raise our profile and bring us to the attention of even more labels.
Negotiating a few gigs at the moment...yes we are finally going to be playing live! Amusingly people keep asking when we are touring! Really, we aren't big enough to tour at the moment...and although we would love to tour the UK, USA and Europe we are just a tiny little band with no record deal...just a few good songs. The plan is to get a record deal sorted, get some smaller gigs under our belt and see what happens in the next few months. Hopefully we can keep the already building momentum going and see where it takes us.
[ March 28th 2006] The Endzeit Bunkertracks Act II compilation is now on presale! Click on the banner to order from the Alfa Matrix site.
[ March 20th 2006] The release of the Hellektroempire compilation featuring Modulate has been delayed. I'll let you know as soon as a new launch date has been announced.
[
March 6th 2006] Official announcement about
Endzeit Bunkertracks II on the Alfa Matrix website! Link
[ February 26th 2006] Received the fantastic
news this week that the Modulate track, Das Bunker, will feature on Act II
of the Endzeit Bunkertracks compilation on Alfa
Matrix, to be released 11/May/2006. The first volume of this compilation
reached number one in the German DAC chart in 2005 so we are thrilled to be
included!
[February 21st 2006] Still
working hard in the studio. Looking at late May onwards to be playing live,
which gives me more time to write and Joe to finish his degree off. Skullfuck
has been getting a great reaction from DJ's and dancefloors around the UK
(Mutate, The Control Frequency, The Body Electric, Resurrected, Nightmare
etc) from the few demo copies we put out so fingers crossed one of the bigger
labels is going to pick up on it! Eurasia from the new demo has been played
on The
Miss Jinny Show on All
FM in Manchester.
